Communication

Besides the guestbook, there are two additional communication channels implemented in VIMP in order to receive portal specific notifications or private messages.

Notifications

The first way of communication are the notifications marked with the bell icon in your portal. The small number on the bell indicates the number of new notifications you have not read yet. Click on the bell to view your notifications. The notifications are varied - in addition to new media in a channel, a successful transcoding of a video, and a new comment on one of your media, you will also receive other prompts to validate new users or new media, if set.

Messages

To use private messages, so-called "PM", either click on the recipient's profile and then on the "Send PM" button or on the message icon in the header navigation and then on "New message" (here you need to select the recipient manually). A new form will open where you can enter the subject and a message. Once you have sent your message, it will appear in the recipient's inbox and will be announced with the message icon.

Clicking on this icon opens the conversation and thus also the message of the sender. A reply can be typed and sent right away without any detours.
